Iconic British Bands Manic Street Preachers and Suede to Bring Huge Co-Headline Tour to Manchester

  • April 24, 2026
  • By Editor - Elliot Thompson

Two of the UK’s most pioneering and celebrated bands, Manic Street Preachers and Suede, have today announced a co-headline tour of some of the UK’s biggest arenas for autumn 2026.

This landmark collaboration will see the groups perform at Manchester’s massive new Co-op Live as part of a run that also hits venues in Glasgow, Leeds, Cardiff, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, and Bournemouth.

Manic Street Preachers have remained a unique musical force since their 1992 debut, ‘Generation Terrorists’.

Recognised as Godlike Geniuses by NME and Best Band at the BRIT Awards, the group continues to be defined by their ability to combine classic rock riffs with lyrics probing the human condition.

Their 2025 album, ‘Critical Thinking’, has been widely acclaimed for its sharp look at the anxieties of the social media age, with Record Collector noting that “all these years later, they’re needed more than ever.”

A Manchester Date for Two Iconic Acts

Suede by Dean Chalkley

The upcoming show at Co-op Live provides a significant opportunity for Manchester fans to witness two of British music’s most visceral live acts on one stage.

Suede, the Platinum-selling and Mercury Prize-winning giants of independent music, head into this tour following the success of their tenth studio album, ‘Antidepressants’.

Released in 2025, the record was named an essential release by The Guardian, Mojo, and Uncut, with frontman Brett Anderson describing it as their post-punk record.

Suede have recently performed to the largest audiences of their career, spanning over 14 different countries.

Their summer 2024 Alexandra Palace concert earned a five-star review from the London Evening Standard, which described them as “the most visceral live act on the planet.”

Their recent residency at London’s Southbank Centre further cemented their reputation, with The Telegraph stating that these “genre-defining pioneers prove their lasting vitality.”

Extraordinary Communal Live Experiences

Since their earliest shows, Manic Street Preachers have nurtured a devoted following that travels globally to see them headline major festivals.

Their live sets are known for being extraordinary communal experiences, blending early classics like ‘Motorcycle Emptiness’ and ‘You Love Us’ with massive chart-toppers such as ‘A Design for Life’ and ‘If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next’.

Newer tracks like ‘Decline & Fall’ also feature, ensuring a performance that spans their entire influential career.

For Suede, the 2026 arena tour follows a sold-out UK headline run and a 19-show European tour.

Having recently toured China and Japan, the band returns to the UK to join the Manics for their biggest collaboration to date.

This tour offers a rare chance to experience the fire and vitality that both bands are renowned for, brought to one of the newest and largest arena stages in the country.

The tour kicks off in Glasgow on 28th October 2026 before arriving in Manchester.

With both bands currently operating at the peak of their live powers, this co-headline event is set to be one of the most anticipated musical highlights of the year for the region.
