A local fostering agency is holding a coffee afternoon in Costa Coffee at Wythenshawe Civic Centre on Thursday January 30th.
The session is to encourage more foster carers to come forward and create a brighter future for the growing number of children and young people currently living in foster care.
Beacon Fostering, based locally, is offering free coffee and cake along with information for anyone who may be interested in fostering. If you are interested in joining them, the session will be running between 2pm until 3:30pm.
You can find more information about the agency and their coffee and fostering information event, including a link to register your interest within the article below.
Beacon Fostering, which has an office in the city and bases in Preston and Liverpool, is on the hunt for more foster carers to improve the national shortage of foster carers. The agency has a strong family ethos and offers 24-hour support to their carers and training to help foster carers along the way. There is also financial support, with Beacon Fostering offering their carers up to £750 a week.
Recruitment Support Officer Jack Gill said:
“At the moment there are more children and young people coming into care but not the families to match them with, and that means more children going into the care system instead of a home environment, without the love and stability that offers. At Beacon Fostering, we are passionate about improving the lives of children and young people across the North West by recruiting caring foster families who will be able to provide children and young people a more stable homelife, having a positive impact on both their present and future.”
The coffee afternoon is being held at Costa Coffee in Wythenshawe Civic Centre (M22 5RF) on Thursday, January 30, between 2pm and 3.30pm
If you want to learn more about Beacon Fostering, please look at their website – there is a form to request a call back if you are interested in fostering but unable to attend the information session.
