The North Westโs biggest celebration of the emergency services is set to return to Trafford Centre this summer, giving families the chance to meet frontline heroes and explore the work they do every day.
Trafford Centreโs free Emergency Services Day will take place on Thursday 6 August from 10am until 4pm, with visitors invited to enjoy a day of live demonstrations, interactive displays and family entertainment.
The event will be held on car parks 10 and 11 outside The Great Hall and will bring together more than 50 organisations from across the emergency services and armed forces.
Visitors will be able to get up close to more than 50 vehicles on display, offering a unique insight into the equipment, technology and vehicles used by emergency teams across the region.
Emergency services showcase comes to Trafford Centre
The event will feature representatives from a wide range of organisations, including Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service, Greater Manchester Police, the British Army, RNLI and many more.
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to learn more about the vital work carried out by emergency responders, with live demonstrations and interactive activities providing a behind-the-scenes look at their roles.
The event will also showcase how emergency services have developed over the years, with displays highlighting the changing vehicles, equipment and methods used to protect communities.
Family activities and entertainment throughout the day
Alongside the emergency service displays, families can enjoy a range of activities designed to keep younger visitors entertained.
Children will have the chance to meet popular characters Fireman Sam and Chase & Marshall during scheduled appearances, while free face painting and live performances from local choirs will add to the atmosphere.
The event is designed to offer something for all ages, combining education, entertainment and the opportunity for visitors to show their appreciation for the people working across the emergency services.
The event will officially open at 10.20am with a short ceremony led by Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester Kate Green, alongside local dignitaries and Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre.
