The globally celebrated Triumph Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will return to St John’s for its second consecutive year on Sunday, 17 May.
The event forms a key highlight of The Weekender, a brand-new placemaking initiative set to launch across the estate on 16 and 17 May.
In partnership with St John’s venue The Trading Route, the ride brings together classic motorcycles and sharp tailoring to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.
The procession will begin with registration at Youles Triumph on Bury New Road before riders navigate a route through Manchester and its surrounding suburbs.
The ride concludes in the city centre at St John’s, where The Trading Route will host post-ride celebrations from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
Visitors can expect live entertainment featuring country, blues, and rock covers as the riders return in their finest vintage-inspired attire.
The Weekender Launch Brings Culture and Community to St John’s
The Weekender marks the official launch of St John’s ongoing placemaking programme, designed to activate the estate through public events and social gatherings.
Gillian Fletcher, Director of Estates & Creative at Form Property, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome the Triumph Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride back to St. John’s as part of The Weekender.
“It perfectly captures what this new initiative is about, community, character and creating memorable moments, all while supporting an important global cause.”
On Saturday, 16 May, the programme features vibrant street markets curated by GRUB across Campfield and Grape Street.
Known for championing Manchester’s independent scene, GRUB will bring together local traders, street food vendors, and craft producers to create a festival-style atmosphere.
A Packed Schedule of Live Music and Performances
The celebrations extend across the estate’s various venues throughout the weekend.
Live music kicks off on Friday night at Mollie’s Studio 4 and OPA at Fenix. Furthermore, Aviva Studios will host a series of live shows across the weekend, including performances from Tricky, Angel’s Bone, and Paczes & Lotek.
This high-impact weekend underscores the ambition of the estate to host meaningful events that bring the community together.
Spectators are encouraged to join the festivities across St John’s to witness the stylish motorcycle procession and explore the best of the region’s independent food and culture scene.
