Un-beat-able performers scheduled to bring the noise during Manchester Day on Holiday

Get ready for this year’s Manchester Day on Holiday as even more entertainment is announced ahead of the big day.

As the sun sets on Manchester Day on Holiday remember to bring your dancing shoes when the spirit of carnival descends on the Northern Quarter.

This year, Manchester Day on Holiday has branched out, with the fun and attractions spread throughout the city.

Whether it’s having a roar-some time with the zoo animals in New Cathedral Street, or taking in the sights and sounds of the seaside in Deansgate, the day will be jam-packed with fun.

The streets of the Northern Quarter won’t be left out as from 7pm the dancers, drummers and brass section which make up Global Grooves will fill the streets with futuristic funk.

Joining them will be the sparkling and dancing robotic queen, IOLA 2.0, whose otherworldly neon glow will be sure to turn heads as she makes her way through the streets.

The entertainment will hit its peak around 8.45pm when the groups converge in Stevenson Square to engage in an adrenaline-fuelled drum off.

For information about all the fun that will be taking place during this year’s Manchester Day on Holiday, coming this Saturday, July 29, make sure to visit the website here to find out everything that’s going on.

Councillor Pat Karney, Chair of Manchester Day, said:

“With Manchester Day on Holiday now getting very close we’re very excited to be sharing more information on the wonderful performances we have in store.

“We’ve already spoken about the daytime festivities, so now it’s time we talked about what we have in store once the sun starts to set. The performers from Global Grooves are the perfect act to get everyone up and moving, with the Northern Quarter providing a brilliant backdrop for their performance.”
